Archaeology, Medieval Archaeology

Classical archaeology is concerned with the study of the material remains of the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean region, especially those of the Greek and Roman civilizations. For the collection of data, settlements, tombs, and objects are investigated and various finds are evaluated. Medieval archaeology deals with the material legacies from late antiquity to modern times. For this purpose, graves, artifacts and entire settlements are examined.
