East Asian Studies (Japanese Studies, Sinology)

Japanology deals with the history of Japan on a scientific level. In addition to history, society, politics, economy, religion and literature are also analyzed. Furthermore, the modern Japanese language and pre-modern forms of language are taught in the course. Sinology, on the other hand, deals with Chinese culture. This course primarily analyzes and interprets Chinese texts from all periods and genres.
