Romance, Portuguese and Romanian Studies

This field of study primarily teaches scientific methods to analyze the language and the literature written in it. A distinction is made between two subfields: While linguistics deals with the origin of language, its analysis and language acquisition, literary studies is concerned with analyzing and interpreting literary texts.
