Slavic studies is concerned with analyzing and interpreting the Slavic language and literature. Attention is paid to cultural, social, and political aspects. Slavic studies focuses primarily on language and literature. Eastern European Studies, on the other hand, is somewhat broader and topics in history, politics, art, religion, economics, sociology, etc. are also covered.

The Language, Literature and Communication major explores spoken and written language. Depending on the major, the focus may be on the influences of media on society, communication, or information science.&nbsp;

From different angles, students of Historical and Cultural Studies are dedicated to the interrelationship that arises through the history and culture of a people. These courses are only offered in universities, and in some places a knowledge of Latin is required.&nbsp;
