Admission
The formal requirement for admission to the Master's degree in Public Management and Policy is the completion of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in public economics, business management, politics, sociology, law, communication sciences, or an equivalent university degree.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University of Applied Sciences may be admitted with 30-60 additional ECTS to be earned during or before the beginning of the program, with Bachelor or Master courses according to a study program defined by the scientific director. Admissions will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
Language
Core courses (1st year) are taught in Italian, courses of the Public Communication and Management specialization (2nd year) are taught in English.
Language certificates are not required.

The Master in Public Management and Policy is offered by the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Università della Svizzera Italiana, USI, situated in Lugano and is promoted by the Swiss Public Administration Network (SPAN). This full-time study program comprises 120 ECTS, for a usual duration of 2 years.
The public sector has radically changed in recent years and creates interesting and exciting professional opportunities that require new appropriately qualified professionals. The variety of abilities, skills, and knowledge required by anyone wishing to occupy a position of responsibility and promote change in the public and in the private nonprofit sector are exactly what the Master in Public Management and Policy offers.
Awarded degree
With the successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a Master of Arts in Economics and Communication, Major in Public Management and Policy.
