This 2-hour online introductory course explores how environmental and social trends are creating systemic risks, what hinders our progress and how to overcome real and perceived obstacles. <h5>Description</h5>This module introduces key sustainability concepts, explores their implications for investors, reviews how companies, investors and policy-makers have responded to sustainability challenges over the years, and explains how individuals and pension funds can drive change.&nbsp;It starts with interactive questions to show the relevance of sustainability issues in our daily lives and at the global level, and uses concrete examples from businesses, particularly Nestlé, to illustrate how investors can use sustainability reports and drive improvements in sustainability practices through active ownership.&nbsp;By the end of this course, you will be able to:&nbsp;<ul><li>Describe&nbsp;and&nbsp;discuss&nbsp;environmental and social megatrends and their effects on investments, society and the planet</li></ul><ul><li>Evaluate&nbsp;potential trade-offs between economic, social and environmental objectives</li></ul><ul><li>Identify&nbsp;challenges to addressing sustainability issues and&nbsp;devise&nbsp;strategies to overcome them</li></ul>&nbsp;Users wishing to receive a certificate of completion must register on the Ethos Education platform before starting the course and complete the course within 30 days.
