Environmental sciences

In studying environmental science, you will learn to examine biological, chemical, and physical structures and functions of the natural environment and their interactions with humans. Relevant topics include environmental problems, environmental policy, environmental issues and environmental law. You will study the livelihoods of humans, animals, and plants and their interdependence. The environmental sciences analyze and document the state of the environment and look for solutions for the future. There are also humanities that deal with the environment. The program is available as a bachelor's or master's degree at universities of applied sciences or universities.

What are the focal points when studying environmental sciences?

The emphases and subject areas in environmental science majors vary depending on the school. Each course combines interdisciplinary natural science subjects with engineering, social science or economics disciplines, where you weighting varies. However, environmental issues are always strongly interdisciplinary. Exciting subjects of study may include environmental law, environmental policy, environmental problems and environmental issues.

How long does it take to study environmental science?

Depending on the field of study or type of school, the length of study differs. The bachelor's degree can be completed full-time or part-time model and usually lasts between 6-10 semesters. If you want to follow this up with a master's degree, this will take another 4 semesters.
