Die Betriebsleiterschule BLS macht junge Landwirtinnen und Landwirte fit für ihre Zukunft als Unternehmer. Die BLS bereitet auf die Führung eines landwirtschaftlichen Unternehmens vor oder ist Basis für eine Anstellung in vor- oder nachgelagerten Betrieben. Die BLS 1 ist eine Weiterbildung für Betriebsleiter, die ihr produktionstechnisches Wissen sowie ihre betriebswirtschaftlichen Grundlagen vertiefen wollen. Die BLS 2 liefert eine vertiefte Ausbildung in den Bereichen Betriebskalkulation, Agrarrecht, Agrarpolitik, Steuern, Vorsorge und Unternehmensführung. Neben Fachwissen fördern die Teilnehmer/-innen auch ihre Unternehmer- und Führungsqualitäten sowie ihre persönlichen und sozialen Kompetenzen.&nbsp;

Higher vocational education is a further education option in vocational education and training and thus complements the universities, the universities of teacher education and the universities of applied sciences within the Swiss education system. A distinction is made between courses of study at higher vocational schools (HF), the professional examination (BP) as well as the higher professional examination (HFP). According to the federal government, higher vocational education and training is: "...competence- and labor market-oriented; it promotes application-based learning, the rapid implementation of new technical knowledge and a high rate of innovation.".
