At many places, such as in the cinema or in cafés, you get discounts with your student ID. If you are not sure, just ask - you usually get student discount. Take a look at where you currently get additional discount with your student ID!

Whether books or clothes: Used goods can be purchased at lower prices. On student websites such as or you will find offers of used books again and again. Also take a look at the personal student website of your university.

Plan your expenses

Write down the income and expenses at the end of the month and create a budget plan for things like food, cinema or party for the next month. Try to stick to it. This variant requires a lot of discipline, but it will keep you from unpleasant surprises. A good tip: Prepare your lunch the day before. That way you also save the long queue in the cafeteria. By the way, in some cafeterias in universities you get your coffee cheaper if you bring your own cup ☺

Save on food

Food such as spices, flour or sugar you can buy in a discount store - even in larger quantities at lower prices. Other foods, where quality counts, can be purchased accordingly with the saved money in a more expensive store.
